What is the difference between the Free and Team plans?
Free is for quick trials and light sharing: it includes 1 user + 5 collaborators, with short link expiry (2 days) and limited features. Team is built for ongoing client work: it includes 5 users (same-company) + unlimited collaborators, higher storage and AI credits, and full sharing/analysis features.
What is the difference between the Team and Professional plans?
Professional is for solo use (1 user, no collaborators). Team is for internal teams that need to collaborate with clients and partners: it includes multiple users (same-company) and unlimited external collaborators, plus additional collaboration and governance features.
What’s the difference between a User and a Collaborator?
A User is a teammate on your verified business domain and counts as a billed seat on Team/Business. A Collaborator is an external guest (outside your domain) invited to specific sites; collaborators can view/comment/upload if allowed, but cannot manage users, billing, or workspace settings.
Do collaborators cost money or count toward my user limit?
Collaborators do not count toward your billed user seats. On Free, you can invite up to 5 collaborators. On paid plans, collaborators are unlimited, with policy controls for watermarking, downloads, and link/session expiry.
Can collaborators be admins?
No. Admin is a role for Users (internal teammates). Collaborators can never manage users, billing, or workspace settings.
How do I create an account on Clear Ideas?
Click 'Sign Up' and follow the registration steps. You can start on Free and upgrade anytime.
What are AI Credits?
AI Credits meter usage for our hosted models across AI Chat Grounded in Your Documents and AI Workflows. One credit roughly equals one token (input or output). We may use additional tokens behind the scenes for context and quality, so credits consumed can exceed the visible tokens in your prompt or output. You can purchase additional credits at any time. BYO-AI via MCP is not billed by us.
Is there a mobile app for Clear Ideas?
Clear Ideas is mobile-friendly in modern browsers. You can add it to your home screen for quick access. For desktop file synchronization, Clear Ideas™ Sync provides two-way sync with offline access.
Can I collaborate with team members and clients in real time?
Yes. Clear Ideas supports secure collaboration with Users (internal teammates) and Collaborators (external guests). You control policies like watermarking, download permissions, and link/session expiry. Real-time notifications keep everyone in the loop.
What file formats does Clear Ideas support?
PDF, Office documents, Markdown, code, images, audio, and video. OCR makes scanned documents and images searchable.
Is SSO or SCIM available?
Yes—SSO (SAML/OIDC) and SCIM provisioning are available on Enterprise.
Can I bring my own AI models?
Yes. Clear Ideas supports Model Context Protocol (MCP), so you can connect your own AI providers. You can also use our hosted models via AI Credits.
How are users billed on Team and Business?
Each plan includes a number of users (internal seats) for teammates on your verified domain. You can add more users at a per-seat price. Collaborators are free and do not count toward seats.
What payment methods are accepted?
We accept major credit cards such as Visa, MasterCard, and American Express. Enterprise customers can request invoicing.
How can I upgrade my plan?
Go to Account Settings → Billing → Upgrade Plan to select a new plan. Changes take effect immediately and any prorations will be applied automatically.
How do I delete my account?
Please contact support@clearideas.com. We may verify your identity and confirm data retention or deletion preferences before proceeding.
Do you offer annual discounts?
Yes. Annual billing provides a discounted per-month equivalent on eligible plans.
How secure is my data with Clear Ideas?
We provide encryption in transit and at rest, two-factor authentication, audit trails, watermarking, granular roles and policies, automatic backups, and additional enterprise options on higher tiers. Enterprise can add SSO/SCIM, data residency, and customer-managed keys.
Does Clear Ideas support two-factor authentication (2FA)?
Yes, two-factor authentication is available on all plans. You can enable 2FA using authenticator apps (like Google Authenticator, Authy, or similar) for enhanced account security. This adds an extra layer of protection beyond just your password.
Why am I not receiving email notifications?
Check your notification settings and preferences (frequency, time window, sites). Add notifications@clearideas.com to your allowlist and check your spam folder.
